Small Pantry Organization

Tips for Small Pantry Organization

A well-organized pantry can be the key to a successful kitchen. If you have pantry space in your RV then it is important to make the most of the space so you can store all of your kitchen supplies. Here are a few tips to help you get your pantry organized and functioning at its best.

Consider Every Open Space as an Option for Storage & Get Creative

Sometimes, it seems like there’s never enough storage space in the kitchen area of your RV. Pots and pans take up a lot of room in cabinets, and small appliances can quickly clutter countertops. One way to free up some space is to use the area above the sink for extra storage. This can be a great place to keep tools or goods that are not used on a daily basis. If there is room below ground level, this is also a good place to store large pots and pans. generally, it is a good idea to keep heavier items on lower shelves and lighter items on higher shelves; however, it depends on what you’re storing and how you want to organize things. Use your best judgment and get creative with your storage solutions! The most important thing is that everything has a designated spot so your kitchen stays tidy and organized.

Install a Pull-Out Pantry

A great way to add storage to your RV space is by adding a pull-out pantry. These handy cabinets slide open easily, so you can store all sorts of cooking supplies or spices. They come in different sizes, so you can find one that fits your available space perfectly. And they blend into any layout seamlessly enough that they won’t block countertops, refrigerators, or doorways. So if you’re looking for a cost-effective way to add storage to your kitchen, a pull-out pantry is a great choice.

Keep a Handle on Food Storage Containers

You may have many extra unused food containers that are taking up space in your cabinets. We suggest consolidating them by placing them into one another from largest to smallest. Then gather the lids and place them on top of all of the containers. This will help you make room for your other supplies while keeping all of your food containers in one place.

Group Your Pantry Items

If you want to organize all of the items in your pantry, we suggest grouping them by category. You will no longer have to waste time searching all through your pantry to find one item. Here are some categories you can use to organize your pantry space:

  • Cans
  • Pasta/Grains
  • Bread/Rolls
  • Breakfast Food
  • Snacks
  • Spices
  • Bottles/Beverages

Stack When You Can

Your RV pantry space might seem limited however you can create even more space by stacking items. If you place more oversized kitchen items on the bottom level of your cabinets and place lighter ones on top, you can free up some room. It is best to do this with items that you do not use often.  Additionally, placing larger items at the bottom of shelves and lighter items on top can help to prevent accidental toppling. With a little bit of planning and forethought, your pantry can be functional and stylish.
